Juno’s stepmother, CJ Cregg and the Mother of the Smoke Monster, Allison Janney, has been cast in Dreamworks Studios’ The Help.

According to EW, the actress follows her recent appearance in Lost with the role of Charlotte Phelan, mother to Skeeter Phelan, the film’s heroine.

For those not in the know, The Help adapts the book of the same name from Kathryn Stockett, and is set to be directed by Tate Taylor who also wrote the script.

The novel follows three characters whose stories intertwine to create a picture of life in Jackson, Mississippi during the 1960’s and highlights the key role played by ‘the help’, despite racial barriers.

Zombieland’s Emma Stone has been cast as Eugenia “Skeeter” Phelan; with Viola Davis, Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Lowell filling out other key roles.

The Help is filming this summer and is expected to be released next year.
