Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland was a hit with audiences across the world, with the nonsensical abundance of Lewis Carroll’s work finding a perfect bedfellow with the director.

As the grin of Cheshire Cat remains so does the hand of Burton (and many of his cast) in James Bobin’s follow up – Alice Through the Looking Glass. Mia Wasikowska is back as Carroll’s puzzled Alice, Johnny Depp returns as The Mad Hatter, and among the grand cast we have the much loved, recently late Alan Rickman.

Today the European press conference is taking place and you can watch the full event below. Joining Depp and Wasikowska in the film are Anne Hathaway, Rhys Ifans, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron-Cohen, Stephen Fry, Michael Sheen and Timothy Spall.

I remember sitting in the same press conference six years ago with the assembled journalists and heard one of the crowd ask, in all seriousness, if Johnny Depp made his own hats. The bar is low then for this sequel event – watch the full press conference below.

The Hatter has lost his Muchness, so Mirana (Hathaway) sends Alice on a quest to borrow the Chronosphere, a metallic globe inside the chamber of the Grand Clock which powers all time. Returning to the past, she comes across friends – and enemies – at different points in their lives, and embarks on a perilous race to save the Hatter before time runs out…
