Having made his feature directorial debut with the warmly-received Benny & Jolene, which had its world premiere at the London Comedy Film Festival at the start of the year, writer-director Jamie Adams has already returned behind the camera for his sophomore effort, A Wonderful Christmas Time.

The film marks the second instalment in his and Jolene Films’ Modern Romance Trilogy, continuing the work they started with Benny & Jolene. This time, Adams has Laura Haddock (The Inbetweeners Movie, Da Vinci’s Demons) and Dylan Edwards (Svengali, High-Rise) front and centre, and we’ve got the first trailer to share.

Two weeks before Christmas, 22 year old Noel is left home alone by his parents, and dumped by his long term girlfriend for another guy; a taller and more rugged alternative.. A chance encounter with Cherie, a disillusioned actress leads Noel to open up and share his passions. Their shared love of music, eighties movies, and all things Christmas encourages a celebratory spirit, and the possibility of a Happy New Year. Will the insecurities of recent break-ups, Seasonal intoxication, and mis-communication conspire to ruin their fun or will they simply have a Wonderful Christmas Time?

Joining Haddock and Edwards for the ride are Ian Smith, Mandeep Dhillon, Sara Pascoe, and Oliver Maltman, with Jon Rennie (Benny & Jolene) producing and Adams serving as co-producer.

Adams once more set out the story, and let his cast improvise from the outline, shooting on an ultra-lean budget in an impressively quick six days. And as if that wasn’t enough, it’s set to be the first movie to be released exclusively On Demand from our shores.

A Wonderful Christmas Time will be arriving On Demand on November 14th, before then heading into cinemas in time for the holidays on December 12th. Whilst we eagerly await its arrival – our own Stefan Pape was treated to an early screening, and liked what he saw – here’s that all-important trailer. Enjoy.
