Captain America: The Winter Soldier – Captain America #19 by Steve Epting
For Captain America: The First Avenger, Marvel Studios were careful not to overdo it with any overly patriotic imagery in the posters, especially when promoting the movie internationally. However, now that we’re all familiar with Steve Rogers and the kind of man he is, there’s nothing to say we can’t see the change in next year’s sequel, Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Of all the covers out there, I chose this one because of how seamlessly it blends the supporting characters into the background (many of whom will be featured in Cap’s upcoming movie), while still keeping the titular superhero and American flag very much at the forefront. It’s a powerful piece of imagery, and one which we know for sure would go down very well in the Captain’s home country.
