While the tongue in cheek end credits sequence for 22 Jump Street poked fun at the success of the franchise and all of the ridiculous directions it could go in future, 23 Jump Street is now in the works!

Sony Pictures have chosen Rodney Rothman (who also worked on the last movie) to pen the script, with The LEGO Movie’s directing team of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller – who helmed the first two Jump Street movies – overseeing the development of the script as producers.

22 Jump Street was a huge success, grossing over $320 million worldwide. The first earned a little over $200 million. As of right now, it’s unknown whether or not Lord and Miller will return to direct, but based on what they brought to the first two Jump Street movies, it would be a great shame if they don’t!

At the conclusion of the last movie, Ice Cube’s character told Hill and Tatum that they were heading to medical school, but whether the third one actually sticks to that remains to be seen.

It’s obviously still early days, so there’s no word on a release date as of yet. Where would you like to see Schmidt and Jenko go undercover for 23 Jump Street? Let us know your thoughts below!
