Fantastic Four
Why we’re looking forward to it: The third and final comic book film of 2015, at the time of writing Fantastic Four is still a little bit of a mystery. Directed by Josh Trank – who scored a hit with Chronicle back in 2011 – the film has drawn fire for daring to differ from the source material, most notably with casting Michael B. Jordan as The Human Torch. We are of the opinion that it’s the actor, and not the actor’s colour that matters, and as anyone who has seen the powerful drama Fruitvale Station will attest, Jordan is no slouch in that department.
Similar concerns have been voiced over a number of decisions Trank & co seem to be making on this one, most recently in the changes to Dr. Doom’s origins. Fears will hopefully be assuaged once we start seeing some footage, but with a cast that includes Toby Kebbell, Kate Mara and Miles Teller – who is superb in Oscar-contender Whiplash – we’re willing to bet it’ll finally be a Fantastic Four film worth watching.
It can’t be worse than Galactus as a cloud, right? The only way is up.
