Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been very much deservedly on the rise in recent years, and returns to the big screen today, once more with Christopher Nolan, putting in one of his finest performances to date in The Dark Knight Rises.
We’ve thankfully not got long before we see him back in theatres again, with Looper’s release just on the horizon this September. All we’ve seen so far has been exceptional, and now the film’s official site has debuted eleven great new images from what’s promising to be one of the best sci-fi/action films of the year.
“In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination.
The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.”
Writer-director Rian Johnson reunites with his Brick star once more, who is joined by the brilliant likes of Bruce Willis, Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, Jeff Daniels, Piper Perabo, Noah Segan, and Garrett Dillahunt.
