Last week, some seemingly incorrect information surfaced pointing to Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool making some sort of appearance in Logan. Director James Mangold was quick to deny that, though we later learned that “something” could be in the works with these two.

What that will be remains to be seen, especially as Hugh Jackman has said on numerous occasions that Logan will be the last time he dons Wolverine’s claws on the big screen.

Now, in a new interview, Reynolds talked about what’s next for him as the Merc with the Mouth and his desire to team-up with Wolverine. “I would love to play Deadpool for as long as they would let me play Deadpool. We have outlines and stories for a number of different films. I have no idea if I can change his mind,” he added in regards to Jackman’s future. “It’s the audience: I would exclusively exploit that relationship to get Hugh back for another one.”

Jackman meanwhile played coy, saying only: “I’m hesitating, because I could totally see how that’s the perfect fit. But the timing may be wrong.” With fans making it clear that they want it to happen and Reynolds pushing for it, here’s hoping Fox can convince the Australian actor to return to the role which made him a household name for a Deadpool/Wolverine movie…
