The long wait for a finale of sorts to Oren Peli’s Paranormal Activity series is almost at an end. Just as it had started to branch out with it’s Marked Ones offshoot and its colon-infused titles (: The Ghost Dimension is the prosaic addition this time around) Paramount announced that the fifth film would be the series’ last.
It’s true that by the third film the series was not only repeating itself but appearing at times to be a greatest hits album played by a cover band, however last year’s Marked Ones was a genuine improvement. The film’s final moment did provide some sort of intriguing link to the films’ greater story so it’ll be interesting to see what conclusions we come to with the fifth, final film.
