The first official image has been released from Creed, the upcoming Rocky spinoff which will focus on Adonis Creed, the grandson of former heavyweight champion Apollo (played by Carl Weathers in the original quadrilogy). Chronicle and Fantastic Four star Michael B. Jordan will play the young boxer in the movie.
Sylvester Stallone will also reprise his role as Rocky Balboa. Creed will follow Adonis after he discovers that he has a talent for boxing, leading to him tracking down Rocky and asking him to become his trainer/mentor.
In this first image (shared by Stallone via his Instagram account), we see the duo in the ring training.
Creed was written by Ryan Coogler, and he will also direct. Other stars include Graham McTavish, Tessa Thompson, and Phylicia Rashad.
