After the release of twenty-five Empire Magazine covers featuring the various characters from X-Men: Days of Future Past, a new batch of stills have found their way online from the movie.

They include new looks at everyone from Wolverine to Magneto and Blink, although it’s the last but one image which is perhaps the most intriguing. Evan Peters’ Quicksilver is pictured with a young girl; could that be his sister, Wanda, a.k.a. The Scarlet Witch? The character will be played by Elizabeth Olsen in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, but Fox also has the right to use her in their movies due to her mutant heritage. If the next X-Men movie is set in the 80s or 90s, then having Wanda at this age in the 70s would allow for an older version to be brought back further down the line.

Of course, that’s unlikely to please comic books fans who are already annoyed at the age differences between mutants and the confusing continuity created by the movies.

Starring  Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender, Ian McKellen, Nicholas Hoult, Omar Sy, Peter Dinklage, Halle Berry, Adan Canto, Fan Bingbing, Anna Paquin, Evan Peters, Daniel Cudmore, Ellen Page and Booboo Stewart, X-Men: Days of Future Past is set to be released on May 23rd, 2014.
