Wonder Woman hasn’t even hit our screens yet but talk surrounding the future of Gal Gadot’s Diane Prince has already begun and the catalyst for this is director Patty Jenkins in a recent interview she gave to The Toronto Sun.

Warner Bros take on the DC character has been lacking a big promotional push for the film, which opens in the UK on the 2nd of June, but a number of new TV spots featuring first looks at the Villian Ares and Sir Patrick Morgan played by David Thewlis have made an appearance. We think this is the beginning of the Wonder Woman overload for the next few weeks.

Wonder Woman

With the upcoming DC project being an origin story of the Amazonian princess, Patty Jenkins hinted that her story wouldn’t start and end with this outing, opening the doors to a world full of sequels for this badass female hero.

“I’m excited for her to come to America and become the Wonder Woman we are all familiar with from having grown up around her as an American superhero. I’d like to bring her a little farther along into the future and have a fun, exciting storyline that is its own thing… I can’t wait to spring forward with who she is and have another great standalone superhero film.

Jenkins in the interview revealed that she is excited to bring Diane Prince to life for new generations to enjoy;

“Wonder Woman 1 is so much about her becoming the person she is…. I always thought the origin story would be the great way to go. I love origin superhero stories and I love the simplicity you can have with that journey. Also, there was the fact that no one had done her story and the fact that I love her. So it was a treasure trove of potential.”
