Willem Dafoe is currently in talks to reunite with Robert Eggers to star in his long in-gestation passion project, a remake of ‘Nosferatu.’

Lily Rose-Depp, Bill Skarsgard and Nicholas Hoult already are on board.

In the new reimagining, ‘Nosferatu’ is a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman (Depp) in 19th century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire (Skarsgard) who stalks her, bringing untold horror with him. It is unknown who Dafoe will be playing.

Eggers will be writing and directing the project. Jeff Robinov, John Graham, Eggers, Chris Columbus and Eleanor Columbus are producing.

Eggers and Dafoe have previously worked together on ‘The Lighthouse’ and ‘The Northman’the project sees Dafoe returning to the Nosferatu creature he played in Shadow of the Vampire.

Dafoe’s upcoming projects include two Yorgos Lanthimos projects ‘Poor Things’ and ‘And’ as well as Wes Anderson’s ‘Asteroid City’ and French thriller ‘The Man in the Basement.’
