White-House-Down-Teaser-PosterRoland Emmerich returns to blockbuster territory this summer with White House Down, with Channing Tatum, Jamie Foxx, and Maggie Gyllenhaal taking the lead for the action thriller.

And if the weekend’s US box office performance of Antoine Fuqua’s Olympus Has Fallen is anything to go by, Emmerich is going to have another big success on his hands.

We saw the first images from the film surface late last year. And now moviefone have debuted the first teaser poster, teasing that things will go from normal to blockbuster in the space of a day for Tatum and his co-stars.

In Columbia Pictures’ White House Down, Capitol Policeman John Cale (Channing Tatum) has just been denied his dream job with the Secret Service of protecting President James Sawyer (Jamie Foxx). Not wanting to let down his little girl with the news, he takes her on a tour of the White House, when the complex is overtaken by a heavily armed paramilitary group. Now, with the nation’s government falling into chaos and time running out, it’s up to Cale to save the president, his daughter, and the country.

Starring alongside Tatum, Foxx, and Gyllenhaal is a great ensemble, led by Jason Clarke, James Woods, Richard Jenkins, Jake Weber, Lance Reddick, and Joey King

Emmerich is directing from a script by James Vanderbilt (Zodiac, The Amazing Spider-Man).

White House Down will be released on June 28th in the US, with its UK release date set a little later for 6th September. The film’s first trailer is set to debut online tomorrow night, so be sure to check back when it does. I have a feeling it’s going to be awesome.
