Fans of indie hipster filmmaker Wes Anderson will be pleased to learn that following his first foray into animation (this year’s stop-motion delight Fantastic Mr. Fox), he has another film coming in 2011.

The Playlist have reported Production Weekly dropped the news (via Twitter) that the Rushmore auteur is planning to shoot sometime next spring.

There’s no information on his IMDB page as yet, but Anderson was known to be developing a script for a film called My Best Friend, although The Playlist is saying that his next could now be a different project to that.

Whatever the outcome, I’m always happy to see Anderson back in the director’s chair. The Fantastic Mr. Fox was considered by some critics something of a comeback for him (although I loved The Darjeeling Limited personally), but I’m just glad the New York-based director is still finding the funds to make films from his unique vision.
