I loved Ruby Sparks, and was keen to tell people. It is a love story which had the ability to seduce and surprise you before twisting a knife you didn’t even know was there.
Two featurettes from the forthcoming Blu-ray are yours for the taking below. They focus on Zoe Kazan’s brilliant take on the Pygmalion story and then a slightly more tenuous, but no less interesting, addition to the creation of Ruby Sparks is a brief look at the two couples leading the film, directors Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris and writer/actor Zoe Kazan and Paul Dano.
I spoke to Dano about the roots of Ruby Sparks and he told a story of Kazan and a discarded mannequin, he’s a fascinating guy so check out the interview here and enjoy the clips below.
Oh, and buy Ruby Sparks when it is released on the 11th of February. She’s worth it.
