Soaring to fame this year with the release of their second album, Babel, which became the biggest selling debut of 2012, with 600,000 copies sold in its first week alone in the US, Mumford and Sons are returning with the next single from the new album, Lover of the Light.
Following the release of the lead single, I Will Wait, back in August, Lover of the Light is set for release in the UK on 3rd December (but is of course available now as part of the album), and the band have put out the music video for the song, which stars none other than Idris Elba, himself, with Elba also directing alongside Dan Cadan.
The Golden Globe-winning and Emmy-nominated actor is perhaps best known for his leading role in Luther, and was most recently seen earlier this year in Ridley Scott’s Prometheus. He’ll soon be seen in the lead in the upcoming Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, along with part of Guillermo del Toro’s ensemble for Pacific Rim, and will be reprising his role as Heimdall in Thor: The Dark World, making 2013 another very promising year for him.
Elba is also set to make his small-screen directorial debut next year, directing Anna Friel in an episode of a new series from Playhouse Presents, penning the script himself, which is due to air in the UK in May 2013.
Lover of the Light will be released in the UK on 3rd December as a single, as is currently available for purchase and to download on Mumford & Sons’ latest record, Babel.
