After countless teasers, Marvel and Netflix have finally released the first full-length trailer for Jessica Jones. Set in the same corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Daredevil, it’s clear from the start that this is a very different kind of series, though it quite clearly shares the same sort of adult tone that made The Man Without Fear’s show so popular back in April.

The main emphasis here is on both Jessica Jones and Luke Cage’s respective decisions to hide the fact that they have superpowers, though in the case of the former, it appears to have a lot to do with the abuse she received at the hands of the villainous Killgrave.

Better known as Purple Man to comic fans, he has the ability to make anyone do whatever he says, and as you can see from the trailer, that’s going to have some very violent ramifications as Jessica sets out to bring down the clearly insane villain once and for all.

Krysten Ritter plays Jessica Jones, and she’ll be joined by Rachel Taylor as Trish Walker (a.k.a. Hellcat), Carrie-Anne Moss as Harper, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and David Tennant as the villainous Killgrave/ Purple Man. It’s an impressive cast, and this poster is very cool.

The official synopsis for Jessica Jones reveals that, “After a tragic ending to her short-lived super hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases involving people with extraordinary abilities in New York City.”

Jessica Jones is set to premiere on the online streaming service on November 20th.
