With filming underway on the Disney+ Marvel series ‘Hawkeye’ Variety are reporting a number of roles have now been cast that includes Vera Farmiga and Florence Pugh.

Jeremy Renner and Hailee Stanfield lead the cast of the Avengers spin-off series that will see Farmiga take on the role of Eleanor Bishop, the mother of Kate Bishop (Steinfeld). Pugh will reprise the role of spy and assassin Yelena Belova, the sister of Black Widow. Pugh is set to play the character in the upcoming film ‘Black Widow’.

Also joining the cast are Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Alaqua Cox, and Zahn McClarnon. Fee will play Kazi, the mercenary villain Clown. Dalton will play Jack Duquesne, an early mentor to Hawkeye.

Newcomer Cox will play Maya Lopez/Echo – a deaf Native American who is capable of perfectly copying another person’s movement, McClarnon will play the role of William Lopez.

Jonathan Igla is attached to write and executive produce the series.

The series will be based on Renner’s skilled archer character Hawkeye (aka. Clint Barton) as he passes the torch to Kate Bishop, the character who has taken up the mantle after Barton in the comics.
