After a few more additions to the cast of Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated The Dark Knight Rises came last week, Variety have announced two more actors added to the film in the form of Brett Cullen and Chris Ellis.

Cullen will be playing a judge, and Ellis a priest.

Both actors have worked predominantly on television throughout their careers, but have also worked under and alongside some of Hollywood’s biggest names, which will no doubt be perfect experience for working with the incredible cast of Nolan’s final Batman film. Cullen and Ellis both starred in Ron Howard’s Apollo 13 back in 1995, for example. Ellis has also starred more recently in Catch Me If You Can and Transformers, and Cullen in The Runaways, Ghost Rider, and the upcoming Red Dawn as Chris Hemsworth’s father.

They will of course be joining what is probably my favourite acting line-up of any film currently in production: Christian Bale will of course reprise his role as The Dark Knight, Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, and Michael Caine as Alfred. Joining them will be the immense trio, who starred together in Nolan’s Inception last year, of Tom Hardy as Bane, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake, and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate, as well as the brilliant Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, Josh Pence as the young Ra’s Al Ghul, and Juno Temple as Holly Robinson.

The beginnings of the film’s viral campaign kicked off last week with the first image of Tom Hardy as Bane surfacing on the Internet, in what was an ingenious and innovative technological release of the image, which itself looks more than a little bit incredible. Like so many of us, I cannot wait to see this film, and its 20th July, 2012 scheduled release date simply cannot come fast enough.
