Paramount+ has released the official trailer for ‘Treasure Island,’ a new six-part adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic adventure, starring David Oyelowo as the legendary Long John Silver.
The series follows young Jim Hawkins (Tom Sweet) and his fiercely determined mother Bess (Hayley Atwell), whose lives are turned upside down when they come into possession of Captain Flint’s legendary treasure map. Soon, the pair find themselves swept into a brutal race for unimaginable riches.
Setting sail across the Atlantic aboard the Hispaniola, Jim enters a dangerous world of shifting loyalties, ruthless ambition and deadly secrets. As the search for Flint’s treasure intensifies, Jim discovers that trust can be every bit as dangerous as betrayal.
At the centre of the expedition is Oyelowo’s Long John Silver, a charismatic and deeply complex survivor whose ambitions challenge everything Jim believes about loyalty, friendship and trust.
The trailer offers a glimpse at the treacherous voyage ahead, with the hunt for treasure quickly becoming a battle between competing ambitions. As tensions rise aboard the Hispaniola, Jim and Bess must navigate a world where everyone appears to have their own agenda.
‘Treasure Island’ has been created for television by Robert Murphy (Vera, Shetland) and is directed by Jeremy Lovering (Slow Horses, The One), William McGregor (The Buccaneers, Lockwood & Co., His Dark Materials) and Paul Walker (Shameless, Riviera, Hunting Alice Bell). Mark Hedges serves as producer.
The cast also includes Jack Huston as Aaron Graham, Tomer Capone as Billy Bones, Craige Els as Mr Arrow, Tristan Sturrock as Captain Smollett and Neil Pendleton as Mr Cameron.

Paramount+ will premiere ‘Treasure Island’ exclusively in the UK and Ireland on 12 October, with new episodes released weekly through to 16 November.
