Trailerspy have got hold of the debut trailer for Howl, a film which opened to mixed reviews at Sundance earlier this year.

Directed by Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friendman, the film tells the story of the obscenity trail Allen Ginsberg (James Franco) faced after the publication of his controversial poem, Howl.
Backed up by a strong supporting cast, including Mary-Louise Parker (Red), Jon Hamm (Toy Story 3) and Jeff Daniels (The Squid and the Whale), Franco looks dazzling as Jeffrey Friedman, showcasing a true acting flare.

Despite the mixed reviews, some condeming it as boring and repetivtive, Howl has the potential to be an engaging and thought-provoking character piece, tracking the life of a literary genius.
