Ok, so it’s Monday morning and you’re thinking I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For whilst scouring all the online film news. Here’s a trailer (via The Telegraph) for a new British comedy you which may offer you everything you Desire.
The film in question is Killing Bono and it’s based on The Telegraph music critic Neil McCormick’s memoir I Was Bono’s Doppelganger. Set in Ireland in the mid-seventies, it follows two brothers (McCormick and his real-life sibling Ivan) as they attempt to become global superstars after seeing their old school friends U2 become the biggest rock band on the planet.
Released in cinemas in April next year, the story has been adapted for the screen by veteran TV sitcom writer Dick Clement (Porridge, Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads? and Auf Wiedersehen, Pet) and it’s directed by British filmmaker Nick Hamm (The Hole, Godsend).
This is definitely One film to look out for in 2011!
