Tom Cruise is returning to the fast lane. Cruise has announced that he will reprise his role as NASCAR driver Cole Trickle in a new follow-up to the groundbreaking 1990 racing drama ‘Days of Thunder,’ with Anne Hathaway joining the cast in a major new role.
The announcement was made at Daytona International Speedway, with Paramount Pictures confirming that the highly anticipated film will race into cinemas on June 2, 2028.
Cruise will once again play Cole Trickle, the fearless NASCAR driver at the centre of the original film. Hathaway is set to play a team owner and engineer, marking a new addition to the ‘Days of Thunder’ world.

The upcoming film will see Cruise star and produce alongside veteran producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Tommy Harper. Jonathan Levine is attached to direct, working from a screenplay by Will Staples.
