Emma Thompson has spoken about her brief return to the Harry Potter universe in a interview with MTV. The actress, who portrays Sybil Trelawney in the films, spoke of how her return for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was short but sweet, a result of her penning and starring in the latest Nanny McPhee movie.

“They were very quick,” she said of her two days on set. “I just had to do a bit of waving of a wand and a bit of ‘ooooo-ing’ over dead people, because of course they just had to fit absolutely everyone in.”

Describing the cameo-laden shooting schedule as a “conveyor belt of characters, as this extraordinary machine came to its end”, Thompson also noted how she had made the most of her time with old friends and colleagues from the series.

The interview, while light on information,  revealed that she had seen sister Sophie Thompson in action as Ministry of Magic employee Mafalda Hopkirk.

“I’ve got a photo of her with Daniel dragging her off somewhere … so I don’t know what [they’re doing]; I haven’t seen it yet.”

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I is due for release on the 19th November 2010, with Part II following on 15 July 2011.
