The apocalyptic comedy is one of my most anticipated films of 2013, and for good reason. Rogen is both behind and in front of the camera, and joining him will be Jay Baruchel, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, and Craig Robinson.
Six friends are trapped in a house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles. As the world unravels outside, dwindling supplies and cabin fever threaten to tear apart the friendships inside. Eventually, they are forced to leave the house, facing their fate and the true meaning of friendship and redemption.
Starring alongside the leading sextet will be a brilliant slew of celebrities, led by Emma Watson, Michael Cera, Jason Segel, Aziz Ansari, Martin Starr, David Krumholtz, Kevin Hart, and Rihanna.
Rogen and Goldberg are directing from a script they co-wrote, based on an original story by Goldberg and Jason Stone, with whom the duo worked together on the original short, Jay and Seth Versus the Apocalypse.
This Is The End is set for release on June 14th in the US, with its UK release date set for 28th June. This is likely to be the most fun you have in a cinema all year. And I can’t wait. Here’s the first trailer to give you a taste of what to expect. And remember, it’s very red-band, so entirely unsuitable for work. Enjoy.
