We’ve seen plenty of stories land on April 1st over the years, but they tend to come solely as news articles, and then that’s that. But Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have gone a step further this year, and put together a ‘first trailer’ for Pineapple Express 2. And it’s awesome.
Whilst I wish that this trailer were for the real thing – there has been talk of a sequel, but nothing concrete yet – I love that it doubles as a great promotion for Rogen and Goldberg’s upcoming debut, This Is The End.
Very much one of the most anticipated films of the year, This Is The End sees Rogen and Goldberg making their feature directorial debuts together, having worked together in various other ways for years.
The first red-band clip for the summer movie landed just before Christmas, and Sony are expected to drop the first trailers before the end of the week. And this fake trailer for Pineapple Express 2 gives us an awesome little snippet at the end of what to expect.
Six friends are trapped in a house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles. As the world unravels outside, dwindling supplies and cabin fever threaten to tear apart the friendships inside. Eventually, they are forced to leave the house, facing their fate and the true meaning of friendship and redemption.
Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel lead the immense cast, joined by Jonah Hill, James Franco, Danny McBride, and Craig Robinson in the leading sextet, with cameos expected from the likes of Emma Watson, Michael Cera, Jason Segel, Aziz Ansari, Martin Starr, David Krumholtz, Kevin Hart, and Rihanna.
This Is The End hits theatres on June 14th in the US, followed by a 14th June release date here in the UK. This is going to be awesome. And whilst we wait for the first trailer to drop for this summer’s apocalyptic blockbuster, here’s the awesome fake trailer for Pineapple Express 2. Enjoy.
