Sony Pictures has unveiled the official trailer for ‘The Social Reckoning,’ a gripping new drama from Academy Award-winning writer and director Aaron Sorkin that serves as a companion piece to the acclaimed 2010 film ‘The Social Network.’
Inspired by the real-life events behind ‘The Facebook Files,’ the Wall Street Journal investigation that exposed troubling internal practices at Facebook, ‘The Social Reckoning’ promises a tense, timely, and thought-provoking look at one of the most significant whistleblower stories of the digital age.
The newly released trailer offers a first glimpse at the high-stakes journey of Frances Haugen, played by Mikey Madison, a young Facebook engineer who risks everything to reveal what she believes the company has hidden from the public. Teaming up with Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz, portrayed by Jeremy Allen White, Haugen embarks on a dangerous mission that ultimately exposes some of the social media giant’s most closely guarded secrets.
Written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, joining Madison and White is an impressive ensemble that includes Wunmi Mosaku, Betty Gilpin, Billy Magnussen, Bill Burr, and Jeremy Strong.
