Today we have our first look at one of the most anticipated new chapter from a beloved saga. Though The Predator follows a number of lesser sequels, mash-up monster movies with Ridley Scott’s Alien, hopes are high that Shane Black is on board to recapture the guts and the glory of the Arnold Schwarzenegger original.

We spoke to the writer/director a while ago on the press rounds for The Nice Guys, and he spoke to us about how his new episode fits in with the ongoing film series.

Starring alongside Thomas Jane the film has Trevante Rhodes, Alfie Allen, Olivia Munn, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown, Yvonne Strahovski, Jake Busey, Jacob Tremblay and Edward James Olmos. Yesterday, in a wave of not-so-subtle teasing, the social media accounts of some of the film’s stars were used to introduce a few new character images, complete with the iconic heat signature Predator-o-vision.

And this cryptic Predator-eese message.
