The Night House

Loneliness is a theme we see explored in film, but always wondered: how easy is it for an actor to portray? After all, they are tasked with connecting to such an emotion while surrounded by people. This was a discussion we had with talented actress Rebecca Hall, to mark the release of her film, the horror flick The Night House. She also speaks about the genre working as an allegory for pertinent themes, and we also chat about her directorial debut Passing, which has been met with critical acclaim so far.

Synopsis

Reeling from the unexpected death of her husband, Beth (Rebecca Hall) is left alone in the lakeside home he built for her. She tries as best she can to keep together-but then the dreams come. Disturbing visions of a presence in the house call to her, beckoning with a ghostly allure. But the harsh light of day washes away any proof of a haunting. Against the advice of her friends, she begins digging into his belongings, yearning for answers.
