As Londoners we are spoiled for choice when it comes to film events. With Spectre, James Bond’s 24th adventure, due in cinemas before the end of the month Getty Images have partnered with Everyman Cinemas for a free exhibition of some intriguing behind the scenes photographs from the iconic film series.

The exhibition is being held at the Everyman Canary Wharf, is free of charge and a must-see for fans of the most famous secret agent of all.

We visited the exhibition last night and present some photographs of the event. -so it’s time to hand over to Bond aficionado and owner of FotoFly Richard Brownnutt…

There’s a common misconception among friends of mine that I don’t watch films. If it were true, it would be strange me writing for HeyUGuys… In reality, though, of course I do watch films. Just that it’s pretty much only 23 of them. Twenty-three glorious episodes of the greatest film canon of all time – the James Bond 007 movies.

So it was with huge excitement that HeyUGuys invited me along to the opening of ‘The Name’s Bond’, a unique collection of photography exploring life on the set of 007. (Did I mention I’m also a keen photographer with my own photography business)? So this was combining my two hobbies. Photography and Bond.

As you might expect for such an occasion, the organisers put on a reception fit for 007 himself, with Martinis aplenty, a live jazz band playing the best of Bond, and a scale model DB5 (correct number plates of course).

The photographs themselves drew a lot of interest. Despite my home being full of 100+ books on the franchise (just to prove what a sad Bondophile I am), there were still a few I hadn’t seen before. You can imagine my delight.

The Everyman cinema, a boutique film house with the most comfortable seats I’ve personally experienced, also treated us to preview clips from the much anticipated Spectre, out later this month.

All in all, a fun and informative, evening.

The exhibition of photographs runs from tomorrow until the end of November and is free. Nearest tube is Canary Wharf (just make sure you take the right exit). And if you go later in the month, why not treat yourself to a screening of Spectre while you’re there?
