Eyes, ears and brains converged onto the good ship internet two weeks ago as the first full length trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master appeared, and now with slightly less fanfare is a new poster.
Following the new trailer there were rumours of private screenings of the film and superlatives covered the walls of the internet with Oscar routinely name-checked in the critical outpouring that followed.
Plaudits for the film’s male stars were also among the ravings and this tale of a charismatic founder of a ‘faith-based organisation’ (not a religion) will see Philip Seymour Hoffman once again step in front of Anderson’s camera and when that happens good things follow.
