The-Lego-Movie-Poster-sliceOne of the first major animated movies of the year, The Lego Movie marks the return of co-directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller to the world of animation following their acclaimed debut, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

It of course also marks the feature-length debut of LEGO on the big screen, which is a huge deal, and all the more reason to get excited for its release next month.

Warner Bros. has teased plenty of great things from the movie already, and with its arrival now just a month away, the studio has launched the first TV spot online.

The Lego Movie follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.

Chris Pratt leads the voice cast, alongside Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks, Will Ferrell, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Alison Brie, and Nick Offerman.

Lord and Miller are directing from a script they co-wrote, having written the story with Dan and Kevin Hageman (Hotel Transylvania).

The Lego Movie will be released in 2D and 3D on February 7th in the US, before arriving in the UK the following week on 14th February.
