Earlier this year, Disney’s The Jungle Book wowed audiences once again when director Jon Favreau brought the classic tale back to the big screen. He used some of the most advanced technology available and where that technology wasn’t available, they’d invent their own.

If you’ve not seen how the film was put together, we’ve got this fantastic behind the scenes featurette from the Blu-ray (released 22nd August and on-demand 10th August) that gives a wonderful insight into how the movie was put together. From how they were able to creat the right shadows on Neel’s Mowgli to walking in the jungle on their purpose-built 30 foot turntable. The featurette shows also shows the use of blue-screen, motion capture and the odd practical effect, Favreau was able to to stitch together the finished movie that looks and feels like we’re actually in Africa.

If you missed our interviews with the cast and filmmakers of The Jungle Book, they’re also placed below.

The Jungle Book stars Neel Sethi as Mowgli, Bill Murray as Baloo, Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, Idris Elba as Shere Khan, Lupita Nyong’o as Raksha, Scarlett Johansson as Kaa and Christopher Walken as King Louie.
