The Favourite brings together Emma Stone, Olivia Colman, Rachel Weisz, Mark Gatiss, Joe Alwyn and Nicholas Hoult for a period comedy typical from director Yorgos Lanthimos (The Lobster, The Killing of a Sacred Deer, Dogtooth, Alps). The film came to the capital tonight for the 2018 London Film Festival and we spoke to the cast on the red carpet.

The cast talked about making a very different period drama, not beholden to historical accuracy, and how they were encouraged to have as much fun as possible. Emma Stone talked about being part of the three amazing women leading the film, how the rehearsal period helped the characters come out. Mr. Taylor Swift Joe Alwyn talked about working with the director and Rachel Weisz in particular about the dance sequence. He calls the film ‘dark, bawdy, twisted, violent and fun.’ It’s all of those things, and very, very good indeed.

The film stars Emma Delves, Faye Daveney. James Smith, Willem Dalby and Anthony Dougall.

Colin Hart and Scott Davis were our crew on the red carpet. The Favourite is released on the 23rd of November, 2018 and on New Year’s Day, 2019 in the UK.
