Richard Ayoade’s feature debut, Submarine, was a glowing 80s set love story set in the bleak Swansea suburbs. The film was praised for the performances of its two lead actors, Craig Roberts and Yasmin Paige, but it was Ayoade’s assured hand which drew the greatest acclaim.
On the press tour for the film back in 2010 we spoke to Ayoade about his next project, an adaptation of the Dostoyevsky novel The Double, which he was working on with Avi Korine and today it was announced as one of the films premiering at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival.
With that announcement came a few new images for the film which centres around a government employee convinced that a Doppelganger is insinuating himself into his life with dangerous intent.
Jesse Eisenberg and Mia Wasikowska lead the film with Submarinites Noah Taylor and Yasmin Paige reuniting with the director. All eyes are on Toronto then…
