Blue-Jasmine-PosterWoody Allen makes his annual return to cinemas this month, bringing together another exceptional ensemble for his latest feature, Blue Jasmine.

We saw the first trailer for the film surface last month, giving us a look at leading lady Cate Blanchett alongside the great cast. And now Sony Classics have released a new clip, via Apple, in which we get to see Blanchett confront her on-screen husband, Alec Baldwin, about an affair she suspects him of having.

After everything in her life falls to pieces, including her marriage to wealthy businessman Hal (Alec Baldwin), elegant New York socialite Jasmine (Cate Blanchett) moves into her sister Ginger’s (Sally Hawkins) modest apartment in San Francisco to try to pull herself back together again.

Starring alongside Blanchett and Baldwin in Blue Jasmine are Sally Hawkins, Bobby Cannavale, Peter Sarsgaard, Louis C.K., Andrew Dice Clay, and Michael Stuhlberg.

Allen is of course once more directing from his own script, with past collaborators Letty Aronson and Stephen Tenenbaum (Midnight in Paris, Vicky Cristina Barcelona) producing alongside Edward Walson (City Island).

Blue Jasmine will be released in New York and Los Angeles this Friday, July 26th, before Sony Classics open the film wider across the US in the coming weeks. The film has now had its UK release date set for 20th September, so we’ve still got a little longer to wait for its arrival on our shores.
