Dogwoof has released the official trailer for ‘The Cycle of Love,’ the moving new documentary from Academy Award-winning filmmaker Orlando von Einsiedel, telling the remarkable true story of one man’s extraordinary journey across continents in the name of love.
Set for release in UK and Irish cinemas on 18 September 2026, The Cycle of Love chronicles an unforgettable real-life adventure that began in 1977 when 23-year-old Delhi street artist PK embarked on an astonishing 6,000-mile bicycle journey from India to Sweden in search of the woman who had captured his heart.
Born into a poor family considered ‘untouchable’ within India’s caste system, PK set out with little more than a handful of paintbrushes, a second-hand bicycle and an unwavering belief that love was worth risking everything for. His incredible expedition became far more than a romantic quest, evolving into a powerful journey of self-discovery, resilience and hope.
Working closely alongside PK and Lotta, who both appear in the documentary, the filmmakers were given unprecedented access to an extraordinary personal archive. The film incorporates decades of photographs, intimate home videos and a remarkable collection of handwritten love letters, allowing their story to unfold with rare authenticity and emotional intimacy.
Complementing the real-life footage, the couple’s younger selves are portrayed by rising stars Chirag Benedict Lobo (Life of Pi, Endeavour) and Mina Dale (Fuckings Bygda, Alt du elsker), bringing key moments of their incredible romance vividly to life.
