Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin take the leading roles here, and with just a few more weeks before Sony release it into theatres, moviefone have debuted a new trailer, giving us a good look at what to expect.
“When veteran 911 operator, Jordan (Halle Berry), takes a life-altering call from a teenage girl (Abigail Breslin) who has just been abducted, she realizes that she must confront a killer from her past in order to save the girl’s life.”
Starring alongside Berry and Breslin will be Morris Chestnut, Ella Rae Peck, Michael Imperioli, Roma Maffia, and Michael Eklund.
Anderson is directing from a script penned by Richard D’Ovidio (Thir13en Ghosts), based on a story D’Ovidio wrote with Nicole D’Ovidio and Jon Bokenkamp (Taking Lives).
Anderson really made a name for himself at the helm of The Machinist back in 2004, and followed it up with 2008’s acclaimed Transsiberian. It’s not often we get to see Anderson at the helm of a film, with most of his (impressive) credits consisting of small screen work. He’s directed the likes of The Wire, Fringe, Treme, Boardwalk Empire, Person of Interest, and most recently The Killing. And naturally, his return behind the camera for The Call is looking good.
The Call will be released in the US on 15th March. Still no word yet on a UK release date, but hopefully Sony will be distributing the film on our shores a little later in the year. For now, here’s the latest trailer to get you in the mood.
