The-Big-Wedding-Quad-PosterIt was almost a year ago that we saw the first trailer for the ensemble comedy, The Big Wedding. Originally set to be released late last year, Lionsgate opted to push its release back to the spring, and now its arrival is finally imminent.

Hitting theatres at the end of next month in the US, and at the end of May in the UK, the studio have released a new UK trailer and quad poster to give you a taste of what to expect.

With an all-star cast led by Robert De Niro (Meet the Fockers, Analyze That), Katherine Heigl (27 Dresses), Diane Keaton (Morning Glory, Annie Hall), Amanda Seyfried (Mamma Mia) and Topher Grace (In Good Company), with Susan Sarandon (Shall We Dance) and Robin Williams (Good Will Hunting), THE BIG WEDDING is an uproarious romantic comedy about a charmingly modern family trying to survive a weekend wedding celebration that has the potential to become a full blown family fiasco.

To the amusement of their adult children and friends, long divorced couple Don and Ellie Griffin (De Niro and Keaton) are once again forced to play the happy couple for the sake of their adopted son’s wedding after his ultra conservative biological mother unexpectedly decides to fly halfway across the world to attend. With all of the wedding guests looking on, the Griffins are hilariously forced to confront their past, present and future – and hopefully avoid killing each other in the process.

Robert De Niro, Katherine Heigl, Diane Keaton, Amanda Seyfried, Topher Grace, and Ben Barnes lead a pretty impressive ensemble, with Susan Sarandon and Robin Williams completing the cast nicely.

Justin Zackham (The Bucket List) returns behind the camera, making his sophomore feature with his own script, remaking the original French film, Mon frère se marie, by Jean-Stéphanie Bron and Karine Sudan.

Following his Oscar nomination in Silver Linings Playbook, De Niro has a slew of films on his slate for this year, ranging from comedy performances like The Big Wedding and Jon Turteltaub’s Last Vegas to action-thrillers like Luc Besson’s Malavita and Mark Steven Johnson’s Killing Season. It stands to be a very big year for De Niro, and it should be interesting to see him in so many different films in the coming months.

The Big Wedding will be hitting US theatres on April 26th, followed by a UK release date on 29th May. For now, here’s the new trailer and poster to get you in the mood.
