Studiocanal has launched the official international trailer for ‘The Apprentice,’ Ali Abbasi’s searing exploration of Donald Trump’s rise to power in 1980s America.
The movie is a dive into the underbelly of the American empire. It charts a young Donald Trump’s ascent to power through a Faustian deal with the influential right-wing lawyer and political fixer Roy Cohn.
Directed by Ali Abbasi, the film stars Sebastian Stan (Pam & Tommy) as Donald Trump, Jeremy Strong (Succession) as the firebrand Roy Cohn, Martin Donovan (Tenet) as Fred Trump Sr, and Maria Bakalova (Borat Subsequent Moviefilm) as Ivana Trump.

The film premiered In Competition at the 77th Cannes Film Festival and will have its UK premiere at the London Film Festival next month. It will be released in UK & Irish cinemas on 18 October 2024.
