Taylor Lautner (Twilight) is attached to play the male lead in Incarceron, an adaptation of Catherine Fisher’s young adult novel of the same name, The Playlist are reporting.

Incarceron follows Finn (Lautner), who has lived his entire life on Incarceron, a savage, futuristic prison society. He meets the daughter of the warden, who is trapped in her own prison, a futuristic world constructed beautifully to look like the 17th Century. She knows nothing of Incarceron except that it exists. She and Finn simultaneously find a crystal key that allows them to communicate and hatch an escape plan for Finn.

Adam Cooper and Bill Collage are currently writing the screenplay, with a desire to shoot later this year.

Deadline are further reporting that Fox 2000 – who are financing the production – are interested in casting either Blake Lively (The Town), Jennifer Lawrence (Winter’s Bone) or Emma Watson (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1) in the female lead.

It seems like a fairly optimistic wish-list, so I certainly wouldn’t hold your breath on any of the above names joining the cast.
