Veteran actor, Sylvester Stallone and action mogul Michael Bay are to team-up for an action-thriller titled ‘Little America’.

Set in a dystopian future, Stallone will play a former Army Ranger hired by an Asian billionaire to find his daughter.

With the highly skilled sister of the missing woman along for the ride, he must navigate the dark underbelly of Little America – a walled-off city within Hong Kong where many Americans have fled.

The project has been described as being reminiscent of John Carpenter’s cult classic, the 1981 sci-fi action-thriller ‘Escape From New York’ which starring Kurt Russell.

Bay will act as executive producer with his production company Platinum Dunes. Balboa Productions and AGC Studios are also producing. Rowan Athale wrote the spec script and is also expected to direct the project.

The filming on the action-thriller is set to commence this summer.

Having made his name as the Italian boxer ‘Rocky’ he changed his lane and became a bit of an action legend, Stallone was last seen reprising his role of John Rambo in ‘Rambo: Last Blood’. Before starting on this new project, Stallone has to wrap up production on Julius Avery’s  ‘Samaritan’ a film focusing on a young boy who learns that a superhero who was thought to have gone missing after an epic battle twenty years ago may in fact still be around. His upcoming projects include ‘Tough As They Come’ in which he will star and direct the film which is based on Travis Mills, a soldier in Afghanistan who loses his four limbs four days before his 25th birthday, and when he returns home must reconcile with his step-father, and live with only prosthetics for his arms and legs.
