If you’ve read our breakdown of everything we know about Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, you’ll no doubt be well aware that there are rumours about Darth Vader showing up in the first of Disney’s Anthology movies. Now, a new report has not only backed up those earlier claims, but also sheds some lights on what we should expect from this possible cameo.

According to Making Star Wars (who had plenty of reliable information in the build up to the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens), a “Darth Vader Dream Team” has been put together which has led to the iconic villain’s costume from A New Hope being meticulously recreated for this spinoff which is set during the years before that movie took place.

James Earl Jones is being brought back to voice Vader’s lines, while the site adds that the Sith Lord is being played by someone new, and not Hayden Christensen as previously reported. They don’t have specifics on what he’ll be getting up to in Rogue One, but it sounds like he’ll be “a prominent player in a few scenes and something to fear for the heroes.”

They also indicate that Darth Vader is set to play a key role in the Star Wars Universe moving forward, so whatever we see in this movie could just be the beginning for him…
