Star Lord

In an extended scene from the first Guardians of the Galaxy trailer, we see Chris Pratt’s Peter Quill/Star-Lord acquire the mysterious orb (presumably one of the Infinity Stones) before being confronted by Korath the Pursuer (Djimon Hounsou) and making his escape in style.

With Captain America: The Winter Soldier now in cinemas across the world, Marvel’s marketing campaign for the James Gunn helmed Guardians of the Galaxy should kick into gear, and a second trailer for the studio’s most daring movie to date surely can’t be too far away now.

After their latest film exceeded expectations with both critics and at the box office, the pressure is on Marvel to follow it up with something really special, and everything we’ve seen of Guardians of the Galaxy so far points to that being the case! What do you guys think? Be sure to let us know below!

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro, Guardians of the Galaxy is set to be released on August 1st.
