Can anything else possibly go wrong with disaster-plagued Broadway adaptation, Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark? The answer is a resounding yes!

Following constant delays, numerous stage-inflicted injuries to cast, rewrites, less than favourable early reviews and a budget which has spiraled massively out of control,  director Julie Taymor has apparently left the production. The Huffington Post has collated a number of press reports, and with Taymor out of the picture, some are claiming the musical will now be postponed for three months!

Who would have thought that what was initially predicted as a sure-fire winner (look at all the film-to-theatre successes out there) could descend into such a disaster.

Maybe this delay is a blessing in disguise for the production, and the additional time will help iron out some of the more pressing issues, although the makers certainly have their work cut out if they are hoping to claw back the alleged $60m production costs accrued already!
