Those of you who are desperate to see Spider-Man 4 may have to wait a little bit longer than you’d like as today, news has come out that Spider-Man 4’s production has been pushed back. According to THR’s Heat Vision Blog, the movie’s spring start has been delayed therefore pushing back it’s original May, 2011 release date.

The reason given for these problems is that director, Sam Raimi and the studio, Sony are having problems deciding which direction to take the villain in the latest instalment.

According to THR:

Raimi wants to have a criminal known as the Vulture act as the primary antagonist in the film while the studio, which dislikes the idea of the winged wrongdoer, is pushing for a romantic sub-plot involving a burglar named the Black Cat in addition to another villain.

IESB first voiced potential concerns over problems back in December but at the time, Sony denied anything was wrong…. Looks like they might have been hiding a few things now. For more info, head over to THR. More info as we get it.
