Fantastic Four

Josh Trank’s The Fantastic Four feels like it’s been in production for forever, but it now appears as if some progress is finally being made. 20th Century Fox do actually need to get a move on, as the last time they waited too long to get one of their Marvel movies moving, the rights reverted to Marvel Studios; hence why a new Daredevil series will be debuting on Netflix next year!

According to Variety, Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days of Future Past) has now completed his rewrite of the script and the roles of Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic and Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman will be filled by the end of this month.

Miles Teller  (Spectacular Now)  is still said to be the favourite to play Reed, although Game of Thrones stars Kit Harington and Richard Madden are among the other actors testing for the role. Kate Mara (House of Cards) and Saoirse Ronan (Atonement) are both being considered for Sue, with Chronicle star Michael B. Jordan – who is already attached to play Johnny Storm/The Human Torch – set to test with these actors to see which group has the best chemistry.

Oddly, there’s currently no word on who will round out the team by playing Ben Grimm/The Thing. Known as “Marvel’s First Family”, the Fantastic Four gained their powers from cosmic rays after taking a test flight in an experimental rocket ship. Reed and Sue are married, Johnny is Sue’s brother and Ben is Reed’s best friend.

The Fantastic Four is currently set to be released on June 19th, 2015.
