To celebrate the release of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, the latest series entry into the MCU, we sat down with the show’s cast and showrunners to find out all about the new bolt of freshness coming to Marvel.

“She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” follows Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) as she navigates the complicated life of a single, 30-something attorney who is also a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk. The nine-episode series welcomes a host of MCU vets, including Mark Ruffalo as Smart Hulk, Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/the Abomination, and Benedict Wong as Wong. The cast also includes Ginger Gonzaga, Josh Segarra, Jameela Jamil, Jon Bass and Renée Elise Goldsberry.

Chatting to star Maslany, we talk about the secrecy around her casting and unveiling, the uniqueness of the character and the show itself (breaking the fourth wall and such), her training and CGI work, and the She-Hulk playlist that helps her get “hulked”. Next, we chat to co-star Ginger Gonzaga about being best friends with She-Hulk, working with Tatiana Maslany, and why the show is set to shake up the MCU.

We also chat with director Kat Coiro and showrunner/writer Jessica Gao who were both desperate to be involved with the show when it was in its inception stage. They talk about why the character is so different than any others in the MCU, as is the nature of the show itself, and why now is the right time to bring Walters to life. They also talk about “cheating” in their casting of Maslany, who they considered their only choice for the role.
