Deadline has just announced the news that the man responsible for writing the Lethal Weapon movies will direct Iron Man 3. The news broke a few weeks ago that he was rumoured to direct and this evening, Deadline have confirmed that he will indeed helm the third installment of the franchise after Jon Favreau who directed the previous two movies dropped out. There was speculation as to why Favreau isn’t directing this movie but in truth, we may never know.
This will see Black reunite with Robert Downey Jr. who stars as Iron Man after helming the 2005 movie, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang in which Downey Jr. starred. According to Deadline, Black won’t write the script for the movie but I’m sure that Marvel & Paramount are pleased to get the ball rolling on the third instalment.
